Alimony
Family Law
Alimony, also known as spousal support, is financial support paid by one spouse to the other. An award of alimony is determined upon several factors, including: the age and health of each party, the income and financial resources of each party, the earning ability of each party, the standard of living established during the marriage, duration of the marriage, and what each spouse contributed to the marriage. Forms of alimony include temporary, lump sum, rehabilitative, and permanent.
